Welcome to the Southern Gems of India Tour! This package takes you on a journey through the historical and cultural delights of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, and Puducherry.



First, you will start your tour in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu and a city steeped in history and tradition. Here, you will visit the famous Kapaleeswarar Temple, a 7th century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and a prime example of Dravidian architecture. You will also visit Fort St. George, the first British fortress in India, and the Government Museum, which is one of the oldest museums in India.



Next, you will head to Kanchipuram, also known as the "City of Thousand Temples". This ancient city is famous for its silk sarees and its numerous temples. Here, you will visit the Kailasanathar Temple, a 7th century temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the most important temples in South India, and the Ekambareswarar Temple, one of the five main Shiva temples in Kanchipuram.



After that, you will proceed to Mahabalipuram, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rock-cut temples and monuments. Here, you will visit the Shore Temple, a 7th century temple that is one of the most famous landmarks of Mahabalipuram, and the Five Rathas, a group of monolithic temples that are a testament to the architectural skills of the ancient Indians.



Finally, you will end your tour in Puducherry, a former French colony that still retains a strong French influence. Here, you will visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual community founded by Sri Aurobindo, and the Auroville, an experimental community that is a living testimony to human unity and international understanding.
