Begin your journey in Patna, the capital city of Bihar and a historical hub that has been continuously inhabited since ancient times. Here you can visit the Patna Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the Mauryan and Gupta periods, as well as the Golghar, a large granary built by the British in the 18th century.
Next, head to Nalanda, an ancient Buddhist university that flourished during the 5th and 12th centuries. Here you can visit the ruins of the university and the nearby Nalanda Archaeological Museum, which houses a collection of antiquities from the site.
From Nalanda, you will travel to Bodhgaya, the holiest of Buddhist pilgrimage sites and the place where the Buddha attained enlightenment. Next, you will visit Rajgir, an ancient city that was an important center of Buddhism and was also visited by Mahavira, the founder of Jainism. Here you can visit the Venuvana Monastery, the Gridhrakuta Hill, and the Ajatashatru Fort.
After Rajgir, you will head to Vaishali, an important center of Buddhism and the site of the second Buddhist council. Here you can visit the Ashokan Pillar, the remains of the stupa, and the Lichchhavi Stupa.
Finally, you will end your journey in Madhubani, a city famous for its traditional Madhubani paintings. Here you can visit the Madhubani Art Museum and witness the traditional art form being created by local artisans.
